1. Become an Independent Dancer
自分で考え、学び、踊れるダンサーへ
Think about what you can do to improve your dancing. Think about your body lines, the music, the character, the style, and the expression of your variation.
自分の踊りをもっとよくするために、何ができるか考えましょう。体のライン、音楽、役柄、スタイル、表現について考えてみましょう。
2. Learn from Your Corrections
アドバイスを成長につなげる
Listen carefully to your teacher’s corrections and repeat the exercises until your body remembers the movements. While waiting for your turn, review previous corrections and use your ballet notebook to help you improve.
アドバイスをよく聞き、体が覚えるまで繰り返し練習しましょう。自分の順番を待つ間も、以前に受けた注意を復習し、バレエノートを活用して上達につなげましょう。
3. Make Your Practice Time Count
練習時間を大切にする
Keep practising while you wait. You can use even short moments of free time to move your body and improve your dancing, rather than standing around or chatting.
待っている間も、立ったまま何もせずにいたり、おしゃべりをしたりせず、短い空き時間も有効に使って練習しましょう。
Write down only the key points in your notebook, and save your detailed review for after class.
ノートには必要なことだけを簡潔に記録し、詳しい振り返りはレッスン後に行いましょう。
4. Respect the Dancer
踊る人を尊重する
When someone is dancing to music, wait quietly at the side and give them enough space to move safely without interruption.
誰かが音楽に合わせて踊っているときは、端で静かに待ち、安全に踊れるよう十分なスペースを確保しましょう。
Stop your own practice if necessary. Watch your classmates’ dance and learn from their dancing and the corrections they receive.
必要なときは自分の練習を中断しましょう。お友だちの踊りも大切に見守り、受けているアドバイスからも学びましょう。
5. Respect Everyone and Every Moment
すべての人とすべての時間を尊重しましょう
Respect your teacher, your classmates, yourself, the music, the studio and the time you share in class.
先生、お友だち、自分自身、音楽、スタジオ、そしてクラスで共有する時間を大切にしましょう。
Do not interrupt the teacher while they are helping another student or while someone is dancing. Wait until the music or explanation has finished before asking questions. If something urgent needs attention, let the teacher know immediately.
先生がほかの生徒を指導しているときや、誰かが踊っているときに、話しかけて中断させないようにしましょう。質問は音楽や説明が終わってからにしましょう。ただし、緊急のことがある場合は、すぐに先生に伝えてください。
6. Stay Focused
集中できる環境をつくる
No chatting during class. Even after your own turn, stay focused and avoid loud conversations in the changing room or other areas of the studio.
レッスン中のおしゃべりはやめましょう。自分の順番が終わった後も集中を保ち、更衣室やスタジオのほかの場所でも、大きな声でのおしゃべりは控えましょう。
The way you act affects your classmates, too. Help everyone concentrate and learn.
自分の行動は、お友だちにも影響します。みんなが集中して学べるようにしましょう。

バリエーションクラスや日々のレッスンで学んだことは、踊りの上達だけでなく、これからの人生のさまざまな場面でも役立ちます。
Of course, we want them to develop their ballet technique, but we also hope to nurture kind and thoughtful individuals who care for others and treat everyone with respect.
バレエの技術を磨くことはもちろんですが、周りの人を思いやり、お互いを尊重できる豊かな心も育んでいける。そんな場所でありたいと思っております。
We want our studio to be a place where children can grow not only as dancers, but also as people, developing both physically and emotionally through ballet.
子どもたちがバレエを通して、ダンサーとしてだけでなく、一人の人間としても心身ともに成長していけるよう、これからも一人ひとりと向き合いながら、よりよい環境づくりに努めてまいります。
